Seaside Spain Villa Are Rentable in Mar Menor, Costa Calida

If you’re seeking a seaside Spain villa for rental in the Mar Menor (little sea) region of Spain you will not be disappointed as there are a lot of villas and apartments by the sea. Tour operators have traditionally made their living by charging commission on the rental to the public; however this is now under threat by owners who are quite happy to rent their apartment or villa direct to the holiday-making public. Tourists are also happy to rent direct as they save on the tour operators’ commission. Holidaymakers can find beach front property in Spain on line by putting in searches like ‘holiday villa select’, luxury villa for rental in Spain or even ‘Seaside Spain villa’ etc. Needless to say, there are web sites claiming to put you in touch with the owners direct but you are actually dealing with a tour operator etc. It is advisable therefore to make sure you are talking directly to the owner and don’t be afraid to ask ‘are you the owner’.

The Mar Menor is theoretically a part of the Mediterranean Sea, but locally it is considered to be a large salt-water lagoon. It is located on the picturesque Costa Calida which is in the Murcia region of Spain. Seaside Spain villa to rent and beach front property Spain rentals are very popular in the la Manga del Mar Menor area. The la Manga del Mar Menor which is a piece of land not much more than a sandbar, just about cuts the lagoon off from the rest of the sea. For this reason it is a popular area for many water sports including snorkelling, scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, and particularly swimming. Visitors staying in a beach front property Spain rental can benefit from the amazing waters of the Mar Menor which is renowned for being about five degrees warmer than the surrounding sea meaning that it is enjoyable to swim there at all times of the year. Another amenity in this area is the noted, open-air, curative mud baths in Lo Pagan, which are at the northern end of the Mar Menor.

Holidaymakers staying in a beach front property in Spain may feel that they want to get away from the beach for a while and see some of the sights. To the south of the Mar Menor is the ancient city of Cartagena where visitors can find some interesting places to visit including the recently restored Roman theatre of Carthago Nova. There is an open top bus which will take you on a tour of the city and a boat which will take you out and around the port area.

Holidaymakers wishing to rent a seaside Spain villa will probably need to search in the central areas in places like Los Alcazares. Holiday apartments to rent in Spain are usually on offer here and this trendy resort is well-liked by Spanish holidaymakers as well as foreign visitors. Visitors who want holiday apartments to rent in Spain will discover that Los Alcazares is very easy to get to by car as there is a very modern thoroughfare network in this area. Los Alcazares is also in the fortunate position of being very close to Murcia Airport which is in San Javier which is on the northern shore of Mar Menor.

By renting a beach front property in Spain in this area you will be able to benefit from the great choice of sights to visit in the surrounding region. If you are interested in wildlife the saltpans to the north of Mar Menor are a must-see. They encompass some of the most remarkable wetland areas in Europe with an extensive variety of wildlife and birds to be seen. Another wildlife haven not to be missed is a stretch of coastline to the south of Mar Menor known as the Calblanque Natural Park. Here you may spot a bird which is not often seen called Bonelli’s eagle (eagle owl). Apart from the wildlife there is a fabulous pine forest and excellent hiking routes where you can explore the amazing rock formations. After this exciting day away you will be pleased to get back to your seaside Spain villa to re-group and plan another exhilarating day out.

Lastly we would like to give you some advice if you are booking your seaside spain villa yourself direct from the owner. We recommend organising your own accommodation also your flights and car-hire but we would advise you to contact a professional when it comes to travel insurance. You don’t want to be caught out with inadequate cover so go to a broker who will sell you travel insurance to suit your needs and be sure to shop around for the best price.

Top Attractions of Menorca Villa Holidays

As far as holiday resorts off the coast of Spain goes, Menorca is often the most overlooked. The smallest Balearic island does not so much suffer from being unremarkable as from being surrounded by some of the most well-known and legendary ‘party spots’ in the world, such as neighbouring Mallorca. However, the target demographic for this location is slightly different than the one Menorca or Ibiza attract, which has helped ensure it continues to attract a respectable volume of tourists each year.

Those who pick this Balearic Island as the perfect location for their break are usually well aware of the advantages and attraction factors inherent to Menorca villa holidays. If you are thinking of trying this destination out but are unsure of what it has to offer, however, you may want to peruse the lines below, where we offer some of the main attractions.

Peace And Quiet

In stark contrast to its neighbours, Mallorca and Ibiza, this island is remarkably peaceful and quaint, with none of the nightlife spots or tourist traps common to the other two resorts. As such, people who seek out Menorca villa holidays are traditionally after peace and quiet, rather than a constant hive of activity. And this, the island delivers in spades. Whether you are lounging by the pool, sunbathing at the beach or exploring one of the many charming towns scattered around the smallest of the Balearics, you can rest assured you will not be surrounded by noisy, half-drunk partygoers or pushy souvenir vendors, and will be able to enjoy your time abroad in peace.

Safety

The island is considered relatively trouble free, which explains why Menorca villa holidays have long been a favourite of families with small children. Even the largest of the island’s towns is no bigger than a small town elsewhere, and most retain a quaint charm, brought about by their traditional architecture and the distinct lack of the kind of building and infra-structure usually found in larger towns or cities. As such, not only are places like Ciutadella or Mahon welcoming, they are also fun to explore as a family.

Food And Drink

Another excellent selling point in favour of Menorca villa holidays is the island’s wealth of food and drink delicacies. Among the specialities visitors will be able to taste and perhaps take home as souvenirs are locally-brewed alcoholic beverages as well as Mahon cheese, a local brand in its own right. Furthermore, most of the island’s eateries are remarkably un-touristy, retaining their original charm and allowing visitors to sample the true Menorcan cuisine.

Stellenbosch Guest House – Villa Grande

There’s something distinct about the fresh country air that reminds me of home. Probably because I grew up on a wine farm and as a child I spent countless hours following my grand-dad at the crack of dawn every day, watching with an intrigued expression as he checked on his vines. Now, several years later, I am back here in Stellenbosch admiring the vineyards that surrounded me as a child.

What brought me back? An exclusive little guest house, Villa Grande, in all its splendour. It’s not home, but it’s quite close to it.

1920’s Villa

For years everyone I knew raved about Villa Grande. My friends, my colleagues and my unsuccessful dates, who tried to woo me into a weekend away at this intimate little luxury accommodation spot situated in the heart of the Cape winelands. And I must admit that although the gesture scared me, the idea of a quiet getaway so near to the place where I grew up sounded ideal. So I decided to take a break from the corporate madhouse and make a reservation at Villa-Grande.

Seeing as I know Stellenbosch pretty well, it wasn’t too difficult finding the place. When reaching the end of the drive leading up to the renovated 1920 villa, the building peers out from behind lush greenery; what a picture perfect moment. I was greeted with a warm-hearted smile as Neil, the owner walked me to my room.

Being the explorer type which I am, I wanted to see every corner of this guest house and that’s exactly what I did. The lounge has a warm, homely feel to it, inviting you to relax and enjoy a warm pot of coffee by the wood-fire.

The guest house is near to the town centre, where I spent way too much money in cute curio shops. At this point I’m realising that if I’m going to spoil and pamper myself I might as well go all the way, so I booked myself for a day trip to visit the stunning wine estates that surround the area; for a spot of wine tasting of course!

A bit of wining and dining if you please

Now good wine deserves to be enjoyed with some good cuisine, so after the wine tasting trip I had a craving for a gourmet dish. Can you imagine that? In the middle of the countryside my stomach sends that strange message to my brain. I decided to try the guesthouse’s restaurant and I’d say the craving was satisfied. Mouth-watering dishes that look and taste equally delicious lured me back to the restaurant for dinner on my second night too. The town is lined with top notch restaurants, literally around every corner and I had to visit them too for a bit of variety after all!

At the end of my stay I was so relaxed and content that I didn’t want to leave. Unfortunately all good things come to an end. Reluctantly I packed my clothes back into my suitcase and gathered my belongings from the charming en suite bathroom; I was now ready to go.

Reality bites

After a well deserved break I am back at the office, nostalgically reminiscing on my four day stay at the cosy Stellenbosch guest house. Although my stay was way too short for my liking, it was blissful nonetheless. I reckon I will definitely go back for more soon. Very soon.

Luxury Villas – Owning a Great Piece of Property

In Spain, one of the more traditional types of property is the villa. People have the idea that all villas are heaped in luxury. But as you go through the country, it quickly becomes apparent that there are a lot of different types of villas. If you want to own one of the luxury Spanish villas that are out there, you are making a good choice. However, you need to be careful when you set out to purchase it because not every villa will be a luxury villa.

Villas are a Great Investment

Villas in Spain are great investments. One of the reasons for this is that they can be used for a variety of different purposes. First, you can live in them. Some people who live in the UK often buy a villa as a second home or to relocate.

However, owning luxury villas can also be a good rental investment. You can turn them into holiday rentals, rent them out to families looking for a place to live – you can even buy cheap villas in Spain, turn it into a luxury villa, and sell it for more money than you paid.

Turning Your Villa into a Luxury Rental

If you want to own a Spanish villa, one of your investment options is to turn it into a luxury holiday rental. In order to do this, you need to first make sure that the villa is located in an area that tourists want to visit and that you enjoy. If you enjoy the area, this will show in the thoughtful way you furnish the villas to enhance the comfort of your guests.

You can either purchase a luxury villa right at the beginning or you can purchase inexpensive villas that you then turn into a 5 star Spanish villa. If you’re serious about fixing up an inexpensive villa and turn it into a luxury villa, you may want to hire people to help you such as interior designers who specialize in luxury.

Finding Renters for Your Luxury Holiday Villa

After you purchase the villa and fix it up if you need to, the next step is to find renters. You can do this in a variety ways such as contacting local agencies and posting the villa rentals on the internet. As a business, it is important to use a variety of methods to be sure you get the bookings you need.

Owning luxury Spanish villas can turn into a great investment if you’re smart. The first thing is to be careful when choosing the location for the villa. The second is to determine if you will turn it into a holiday rental, a second home, or find long term renters. No matter which path you choose, treat it as a business to be sure you actually profit from it.
